Decorate for Christmas


1. Christmas tree Decoration


Put up a Christmas tree and decorate it. The optional choices are a real tree or an artificial one. Then, put string lights on the tree from the bottom up, stably the lights around each branch. Add garlands to the tree, such as ones made of tinsel, popcorn, or cranberries, by wrapping them around and around the tree. Hang your favorite ornaments on the tree. It can be in star shape, etc.. To finish the tree, place a tree topper at the tip, such as an angel or star. The ornaments can be bought from the store or handmade by yourself. 



Hang stockings over the mantle. Traditionally, kids would hang their actual socks (stockings) over the mantle and St. Nickolas would fill them with gifts of coins, foods, or other small trinkets. Now, stockings tend to be beautiful and decorative, but you still hang them over the mantle for Santa to leave toys and other small gifts in. You can hang them off of your television console, on a stair railing, or near your Christmas tree.


Brighten your home with Christmas lights. Hang  string lights up around your porch or make a boundary around your yard. Try hanging them on the mantle, across bookshelves, or along a wall near the ceiling inside your house.wrapping  them around a handrail on your stairs is a good idea.

 

Make a wreath of evergreen, mistletoe. These plants have come to be famous for Christmas over the years, so you can easily find them at Christmas time. Wrap an iron branch into round and stick types of Christmas leaves on this circle and then sprinkle with artificial snow. The final step is hanging on the front of the door or on the wall. 


2. Getting into Christmas spirit


Make a countdown advent calendar to Christmas. An advent calendar is made up of spaces that lead up to Christmas Day. Each day, you open the door, space, or present corresponding to the day. Many advent calendars have small treats in them, such as pieces of chocolate, small toys, or stickers, one for each day. Others may write some quotes or sayings in them to get you in the Christmas holiday spirit.

 

Turn up the Christmas music. You can find  traditional Christmas carols or hymns or more contemporary Christmas music. Christmas songs lists are available on the Internet. You also search them on Youtube or whatever social media you love to. 


 Learn the meaning of Christmas by watching classic Christmas movies. Classic Christmas movies definitely put you in the Christmas spirit. There are so many kinds of movies, from fun and silly to more serious, but most of them are about the meaning of Christmas, either in a secular or religious sense. The older movies also can show you how different Christmas is between the past and the present. 

Here are some Christmas movies you can watch:  Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, or even White Christmas or "Miracle on 34th Street." A Christmas Carol or try It's a Wonderful Life.



Read Christmas stories with your family to enjoy time with each other. Reading a Christmas story is the best way to learn about Christmas. Surely, you’ll get into the Christmas atmosphere of a long time ago and it’s quite hard to escape this spirit because it’s so meaningful and cozy. Moreover, reading them with your family is a great idea to warm up the family love between members. 

You could try classic stories, such as Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol or fun children's stories and poems, such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas or 'Twas the Night before Christmas.

3. Enjoy Christmas Traditions

Christmas carol. Christmas carols are sung when you go to other people's homes. You can also sing carols at your home or go to a senior living center to sing for them. Be sure you learned them by heart some Christmas songs and gather some friends

For You, Song ideas, try ones like "Frosty the Snowman," "Holly, Jolly Christmas," "Silver Bells," “Walking in a Winter Wonderland,” “Jingle Bells,” “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Let it Snow,” or “It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas.”

Help young children believe in Santa. Kids usually believe in Santa or Fairy tales. You can explain who Santa is and how he is going to come visit your home on Christmas Eve. It’s a way to keep Christmas tradition from generations to generations.

 

Make Christmas cookies. Hold a baking cookie and make them at home. Before you bake, cut it into classic Christmas shapes, such as candy canes, snowmen, stars, and gingerbread men. Then, you can decorate them with icing and sprinkles.You can also make yule logs, fruit cakes, or an apple pie.


Enjoy Christmas dinner with your friends and family. As you know, Traditional Christmas foods include things like turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, and rolls. If you like, prepare mulled wine or eggnog for  Christmas dinner. However, more important than the food and drink is friends and family gathering.
