Easy DIY 4th of July T- shirt with Cricut

Hi everyone!

Today you are going to learn how to make your own 4th Of July T-shirts with your Cricut Maker

One of the biggest reasons people, including myself, buy a Cricut is because you can make beautiful T-shirts. If you have Cricut and haven’t explored this feature yet, I recommend you to do it because T-shirts are a classic iron-on project you can create easily with the help of your Cricut machine.

Before we get our hands on this project, I want to explain to you how this tutorial will unfold (I don’t want you to get confused).

There is SVG file that we will be using:

And just so you know, I also have a library full of free SVG files and Printables for all of my subscribers, a.k.a customers. You can see a preview right here

Let’s make a cute Independence Day shirt today!

SUPPLIES NEEDED : (affiliate links)

  • Cricut Machine
  • Cricut Iron On Foil (red/blue)
  • Cricut Cutting Mat
  • White Shirt
  • Iron or Easy Press
  • Cricut Essential Tool Set
  • Let’s get started!

Step 1: Grab your supplies online at Cricut.com, and click on “shop”. You’ll need iron-on foil in blue and red for this project. If you don’t already have it, get the Cricut Essential Tools and an accessory pouch to hold everything. It’s a lifesaver when working with vinyl!

Step 2 - Download and save the You Look Like The Fourth Of July to your computer.

Step 3 – Upload your design

Using a laptop or computer open your Cricut Design Space then upload your design into it. You can create your own design or purchase an image or SVG file through any website or you can use a free template I put the link above.

Step 4: Insert the image into the Cricut Design Studio and adjust the height/width depending on how large your shirt is.

Step 5: Cut your vinyl to fit on your cutting mat. Attach the vinyl to the mat, I used a 12×12 standard grip mat. Iron on vinyl goes metallic side down.

Step 6: Set the Cricut machine's dial to “iron on” and make sure to reverse the image for iron-on before cutting. Make your cut.

Step 7: Use the Cricut Essential Tools to weed your foil image. You’ll be removing anything that you don’t want on your shirt.

Step 8: Place the iron-on foil image onto the shirt. Make sure it’s placed exactly where you want it. If you want to use a different color for the crown, do so now. Use a heat press or iron to apply the foil to the shirt. Read the foil instructions for iron/heat press settings.

Now your perfect 4th of July T-shit was completed. I hope this helps make your life more exciting. Happy crafting!!

I hope this tutorial was very useful for you. I would love to see your creations.
